Prizes Galore...and then some!
So what’s in it for the artists, you ask? Well, we know that artists struggle to make a living, we know the music industry has changed dramatically. So, to make it interesting, and worthwhile for those traveling cross-country (road trip!), all artists get prizes just for qualifying for the Elimination Rounds. That’s right—you perform, you take home something. But wait, there’s more!

Just for submitting a CD and competition entry form, your music gets a thorough evaluation from a qualifying committee of influential people. In other words, even if you don’t reach the requisite unanimous approval by the committee to perform in the Elimination Rounds, you may catch the ears of any one of the committee of movers and shakers who has ideas of their own for you. We know what it takes to get noticed today in the music biz, and we do our best to get every entry in front of the people who can make a difference in a fledging career in music.

Also, we teamed up with two of the most influential companies in the industry when it comes to supporting and publicizing new, original music today, and doing it with cutting edge technology. Both SONICBIDS.COM and SNOCAP.COM are leaders the changing world of music and the ways in which original music by unsigned artists is introduced to music lovers around the world.

The Craft and Business of Songwriting

The Craft and Business of Songwriting

SONICBIDS makes it easy for musicians and promoters to connect with each other online. A strategic partner of the Winery Music Awards, Sonicbids’ eco-friendly Electronic Press Kit (EPK™), puts control of your music submissions in your hands, on your terms. Your Winery Music Awards official entry submission is handled by Sonicbids. SONICBIDS also is giving giving a FREE 3-month membership to every artist who enters the Winery Music Awards competition through the special Sonicbids.com online registration process.

Another strategic partner, SNOCAP has a vision for the digital music marketplace: to bring more music to more people through more outlets. Through the SNOCAP proprietary Digital Registry, artists and labels are empowered to easily promote and sell their music through digital retailers or through their own unique artist store. In turn, these retailers have a growing inventory, offering more music to more music fans. Your Winery Music Awards paid entry and submission automatically earns you a free SNOCAP MyStore account.

For artists qualifying for the Elimination Rounds, you get a shot at the Grand Prizes, including a genuine RKS guitar. But the priceless reward is getting personal feedback from the judges. You’ll get, word for word, transcripts of their comments on your music and performance—no, there is no humiliation of artists onstage like some music competitions we’ve heard of. Feedback is discreet and constructive. If you only walk away with this much, you’re richer than when you started.

In addition, because of the fair and equitable way the Winery Music Awards scoring is created, it is possible for an artist to win a Winery Music Awards Certificate in a specific category—either Originality, Musicianship, or Marketability, even if they do not win the Final Competition. We also have a Certificate Award for Best Song of the Final Competition. So, if you’re hesitating about entering, don’t be. You write music that’s meant to be heard. Let us hear it. Let us expose you to key people in the industry. Go for it.

What Did the Winner of The First Winery Music Awards Win, and What Are They Doing Now?
So, you want proof that the Winery Music Awards is a kind of launching pad for up and coming artists? We’re glad you asked, because if we position ourselves as the “Sundance” of music, we better back it up.

Back in 2005, we organized the first Winery Music Awards competition, an event that succeeded beyond our expectations, with regard to launching a new, original music artist out of a diverse mix of Finalists. The Grand Prize winner was “Threes and Nines,” a trio of talented under-20-year-olds led by a prolific writer with a fair amount of creative genius, took home $1000 cash, a recording contract with a Los Angeles-based music label, a shopping spree at a local music shop, and gobs of goodies from sponsors. And that was just the day of the Finals Award Presentation.

They then went on to be the featured local act at the long-established and respected Live Oak Music Festival, a showcase band at the California Mid-State Fair , the headline band for a concert at the famous Pozo Saloon in California’s Central Coast, and were awarded a spot for one of the tracks to play on during the hit TV show “What About Brian”. Their first CD release, titled “Threes and Nines,” and produced under the RNB Music label that they were awarded at the Winery Music Awards, is about to be distributed by Universal Music starting April 2007.
